November 1st is National Author’s Day in the US. In 1949, the United States Department of Commerce officially recognized the holiday 20 years after Nellie Verne Burt McPherson of the Illinois Women’s Club began pushing for National Author’s Day.
November 1st also marks the start of NaNoWriMo and NaNonFiWriMo/WNFIN. A whole month or writing for budding authors. See their websites to get involved. Don’t forget you can download a copy of our NaNoWriMo tracker and NaNonFiWriMo tracker (to help keep track of your daily word count).
