How to: Use the Goals Planner Pocket Notebook 2021

“Jellyfish” Limited Edition Set of Notebooks for 2021 from Printed Portal.

Any great notebook needs to be functional and much like our digital tools they should make our lives easier and more organised. That is what we believe and this is why we create Organisational Notebooks.

For 2021 we are releasing a new limited edition set of notebooks –  just for Kickstarter. You can choose any of our notebooks individually or get the complete set.

Goals Notebook (Assorted Color Jellyfish)

The Goals Planner 2021 is functional pocket notebooks designed to help you maximise your create your goals action plan, track your progress and review your goals.

This notebook is designed to be a ‘light touch planning notebook’ that you use as part of your goal planning strategy to give you more time to work on your actual goals and to stop dreaming and start doing.

This one comes with a limited edition cover featuring assorted colours of jellyfish and has been updated for 2021.

The layout includes:

  • your mission statement
  • your long term plan
  • your goals for 2021
  • your action plan
  • notes for each goal
  • your progress tracker
  • your review pages
  • your end of year review and
  • some space for notes

Unlike traditional goals planners, it is not driven by a calendar or weekly planners. You have a set of goals for the year and an action plan. You are in your own self-imposed timetable (but you don’t have to be).

The pocket-size of this notebook means that you can use it on the go, slip it into the pocket of larger notebooks or your personal or A5 sized Filofax.

Setting Goals

Setting goals is important as it helps you to motivate yourself and monitor your progress and achievements.

Set SMART goals

Whether writing long or short term goals, the most widely used framework is S-M-A-R-T. Your boss and colleagues will probably already be talking about making sure you set SMART goals and you are probably already familar with the process – so here is a quick reminder.

  • Specific: Well-defined with specific goals, so that both you and your boss can easily measure progress toward goal completion.
  • Measurable: Provide milestones to track progress and motivate yourself.
  • Attainable: Success needs to be achievable with the effort not too high or too low.
  • Relevant: It should be relevant to the companies objectives (not just your own).
  • Time-bound: Establish enough time to achieve the goal, but not too much time to undermine performance.

The SMART acronym is designed to be a framework that will enable you to write goals that have an impact. When writing your goals keep each of these aspects in mind. This will mean that you will have a clear goal and be able to quantify how far you have come and how far you have left to go.

When you reach the milestone set out in your SMART goal you will then be able to celebrate and benefit from a great feeling of satisfaction.

Tracking Goals

Once you’ve established your goals, the next step is tracking progress on those goals. The Goals Planner has space for you to track each individual goal as well as your overall progress.
